Rock, Jazz, Folk

Why offering a special education for Rock Music?

One my think it would be enough to play this kind of music in an autodidactic way; especially when lots of those band, here a violin is playing, are seen. But to have a more detailed view one will see, that often quality is not a subject. And we all know: only quality prevails.

Beside profound technical skills also special knowledge is necessary:

Rock Music needs a complete different sound and has different needs for instrument and musician. The drum set becomes the main rhythm instrument. Rhythms their selves get a higher role to play and become more complicated. The tone needs to be of high quality, but mustn’t sound “too classical” – what the audience would recognize immediately. Scales will be extended, play techniques modified, improvisation will be needed etc.. And Rock Music contains a lot of sub genres, wherefore some knowledge would be necessary.

For Jazz we need beside a very good play technique of course  – more, than in the other genres – high skills in improvisation and the knowledge about the harmonies  of each piece, that is to play. Additional Jazz is a wide field of sub genres. Fur the violinists they are especially: Classic Jazz, Gypsy Jazz, Swing and Fusion.

Folk contains the wide range of Irish/Scottish Folk, Klezmer, Country, Bluegrass and many more. Here a specialization in play technique, ornamentation, improvisation, the scales and much more is needed.

So I want to invite you to my lessons:

  • I do have a huge experience as professional live musician  and was or am playing in diverse bands in these genres: Irish Folk and New Country; Jazz, Klezmer, Evergreens and Popular Classic; Rock and Fusion; Gothic and Metal.
  • I am teaching now for many years successfully in these genres for hobbyists, professional musicians and prospective musicians.
  • I offer only individual private lessons (also in the english language) and give time to the needs and wishes of my pupils.
  • Sometimes it is enough to have some single lessons to open the door to a genre or to dive deeper into the specialization of the student. Therefore I also come to towns outside the greater of Munich (especially Berlin, Frankfurt/M., Rostock….)
  • For my education I offer a free and not binding “Try Out Lesson” (but only for pupils, who want to join my lessons regularly), where we learn to know each other and decide afterwards, if we want to work together.
  • A degree (acknowledged in Germany) for my education is possible. Therefore you need to get a place at the “Deutsche POP” in Munich, Stuttgart or Frankfurt/M..

The lessons are 50,00€/hour (60 minutes).
